Gbenga ALADE

Mr. Gbenga Temitope Alade is the Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank (UK) Ltd. since 2018, and has been its Director since April 3, 2018. Mr. Alade serves as Executive Director of Enterprise Risk Management at Intercontinental Bank Plc. Mr. Alade has over 20 years of broad-based experience within the banking and finance industry spanning Citibank Group, Guarantee Trust Bank and Bank of Montreal, Toronto, Canada. Mr. Alade, a challenge-driven professional with a proven track record of delivering quality work within strict budget and timeliness, is also a creative visionary in business processes with specific expertise in the financial industry.

He started out with Citibank Group as a skilled credit analyst from where he proceeded to Guarantee Trust Bank (GTBank) after a tour of service in three major financial institutions in Nigeria. At GTBank, he was credited with the installation and implementation of the Moody’s KMV Risk Management Software just before concluding his tour of duty. He was able to conclude a Credit Portfolio Due Diligence Project in takeover bid for GTBank. Still in search of developing the combined skill of a Credit Risk Manager and Project Manager, he moved to Canada in 2007 to join City of Hamilton, Ontario where he managed the Customer Contact Project from Initiation Phase to Project Close.

After a successful conclusion of the project, his services were of great appeal to Bank of Montreal, Toronto where he practised as Senior Risk Consultant, a position which provided the much-needed financial industry expertise in Advanced Internal Ratings-based approach to Credit Risk Management, Portfolio Stress Testing and Sensitivity Analysis, Strategic Portfolio Risk Management and Evaluation with special bias for Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment (ICAAP) until he joined the services of Intercontinental Bank Plc in 2010. Mr. Alade led a successful implementation of Basel II Credit Risk Management and Reporting Solution for one of the top 3 banks in Nigeria and Canada.

He serves as Executive Director of Intercontinental Bank Plc. He holds a Masters degree in Finance and has completed numerous certifications including Enterprise-wide Risk Management Professional (CERMP), PMI’s PMP and Prince 2 Project Manager.
