Bruce Lawrence, has over 45 years’ securities industry experience, provides consultancy, training, advice and technical assistance specialising on the post-trade arena and development of the capital markets infrastructure of developing and frontier emerging markets. He has consulted on the full spectrum of securities markets instruments, corporate governance, operational risk, custody, clearing & settlement and assisted in the creation and further development of Central Securities Depositories (CSDs), Central Counterparties (CCPs), Stock Exchanges and Domestic Custody Operations. Assignments have taken him to Albania, Ghana, Jordan, Kuwait, Mongolia, Pakistan, Qatar, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

He has held the position post-trade advisor to the London Stock Exchange (LSEG), the Mongolian Stock Exchange & the Mongolian Central Securities Depository, Ulan Bataar, Managing Director of Zenith Pensions Custodian Limited in Lagos, Director of Credit Suisse First Boston in Moscow, The Chase Manhattan Bank in Moscow and London and JP Morgan, London and Brussels. He was also instrumental in establishing the custody operations of CSFB/Credit Suisse and Unexim Bank in Moscow, Zenith Bank and UBA Investor Services in Lagos, Nigeria, SEB in St Petersburg, Russia and Khan Bank in Ulan Bataar, Mongolia. He has also been the author of the Global Custody Workbook and Global Securities Operations, published by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and is the recipient of the Central Bank of Russia gold medal for services to the creation of the Russian securities market. Bruce has been called to the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) on two occasions as an expert witness on securities market operations fraud and the Irish High Court for the Bernie Madoff enquiry and litigation.
